"Its all about passion. My husband, my family and dentistry, these are my passions. I will do what ever it takes to make them succeed. If that means I clean the bathroom or take out the trash, instead of assisting which is what I do best, thats what I do, and I do it with a smile.
Kirk and I knew we needed a change but we couldnt put our finger on it. Together our experiences in dentistry covered a vast amount of knowledge and know how. But we felt we had blinders on. I was very leery of PM groups with my previous experience in other practices but at the same time knew we needed to take a step in some direction. Just not sure which direction that was. Kirk on the other hand felt that he had survived this long on his own why tamper with perfection, (no joke)! We both had been to many CE courses on how to's with little pearls here and there. What I really thought was helpful was the verbiage. Neither Kirk nor my self were keen on someone coming in and telling him how to diagnose a two surface filling. We had horrible fears of someone trying to corrupt his ethics. We did not want someone coming in and taking over the practice all of a sudden and telling us to fire the entire staff and start new.
What we did want was to be on the same page with the staff, have improved verbal skills to use while interacting with our patients and each other. All the while fuse ourselves together as a team, no second-guessing each other. And most importantly to improve that bottom line! We had been approached many times by other PM groups and never gave it a second thought, but the decision was too easy after meeting with Dr. Chris. He was able to handle all our objections and put our worries at ease. The Brady Group has enhanced our practice to where we are now confident with our verbal skills and more at ease with our patients while presenting large full mouth restoration cases. The Brady program has taught us to hold each other accountable and be responsible. It brings the staff closer together by making them more aware of the numbers and goals. They feel like they have a vested interest.
Nothing in life of value is free or easy. But one thing is definite, the rewards are justified. The training and transformation are never easy just a process, but always worth it. There is no other Practice Management group that offers what The Brady Group offers. They give you the foundation on which to build and you utilize that information to enhance your practice.
I have viewed dentistry from all aspects; employee, spouse and employer. I have the experience and knowledge behind me to say there is value in the things you believe in and trust. For me, for us, that is The Brady Group.
Its a New Day in the Hampton practice! This month as of the 20th we have
produced $54 thousand, scheduled $95 thousand, and we have collected already
$101,011.05. I would say that puts us at almost 200% collections.
I received a $25,000 check in the mail yesterday and the patient did not even
have an appt. yet! Now that is the kind of dentistry I like to do! You know as
much as I do how much I hate asking for money, but the more I do it the easier
it seems to get. And I have to admit, if it were not for the Brady Group I would
not have had the knowledge or know how to collect upfront. What a great idea,
who would have thought? Thanks a 101 thousand ways!!!
"A Small Town Success Story"
In November of 1999, I was privileged to enter into a whole new world of dentistry. I was given the opportunity to work with a Dentist that embraces change and that has the foresight to know a good thing when he sees it.
I had worked in other dental offices and had even considered changing professions. I felt there had to be something better than what I had seen in my years of experience in various practices in the Houston area. I worked for one Dentist in Houston that had the third largest Pedo practice in the United States and I was miserable. (I thought I had been enlisted in the military.) Dr. Rogers' office is the smallest practice, but, by far, one of the most successful.
He had received information from Dr. Chris Brady that sounded exciting and challenging. It was just what he was looking for in a practice that was growing, but with the usual blunders plagued by insurance assignments and emergencies that really clogged up our system. We were definitely headed towards a downward spiral on a road named "Monotony" and "Chaos.
I can only describe Dr. Chris's invitation into our office as a "breath of fresh air." He has integrity with the highest of standards in all phases of dentistry. I've always heard if you want to be successful, you pattern yourself after a successful person or move in their circle. I love the fact that Dr. Chris himself has been down the same road and has found what really works and is generous enough to share his knowledge with us. (We are, without a doubt, taking a short cut to prevent an "ordinary dental practice" from happening. It's hard to explain to someone, the freedom you feel when things just seem to naturally fall into place.) By using the ideas and people skills that Dr. Chris implements in his meetings, tapes and videos, it has allowed us to give each person that walks through the doors of our office, "First Class Treatment." Through the training sessions, which, by the way, are always fun, uplifting and motivating, he has given us fantastic ideas to compliment our practice. Ideas that have been proven to be effective in all areas. He also employs a loyal staff that is always there for him and for us for support and encouragement. We have been blessed to meet Amy, Julie and Michelle. I have absorbed so much knowledge from them and have been given many wonderful ideas through their coaching efforts. Yes, we are a small town practice, with a big heart for our patients. Our patients know this and we are moved and challenged by it.
Dr. Chris's insight for the future of dentistry is beyond belief. His guidance is immeasurable. We learn, as children, that we have invisible boundaries. Dr. Chris has taught us that when we remove those boundaries, (I call them my comfort zone); a whole new world is waiting for us. The first step may be hard, but the results remarkable!
I am so thankful that Dr. Rogers has stepped to the challenge that Dr. Chris has presented to us. Thank you, Dr. Rogers, for your desire to be the best that you can be and for allowing us to make the journey with you. Thank you, Dr. Chris, for making the trip so much fun!
I think its a great program! I know that we all in the office are very psyched! Im very psyched! The whole idea of moving forward and having everything structured and working well with the patients and getting them to talk about what their needs are and what their wants are is excellent.
(To another doctor who was thinking of starting the Brady Group program). Its an excellent way to increase your production and its a real positive move. I dont think you can fail with it if you really are positive about it and you really want to make it work. Who doesnt want more production? Thats the key. And people spending more time with their families. Thats very important to a lot of people. So I think thats a key issue.
Its been really interesting for me, but a lot of the things that weve been learning have been the kind of direction Ive been wanting to see the practice move.
(To another doctor who was thinking of starting the Brady Group program). Its a big change, but its such a positive change. It makes you really enjoy what your doing and you feel like youre really giving quality care that the patients deserve. So much of that gets lost when youre the everyday busy, busy office. If you get into the program and start doing even some of the minor things that they tell you to do in the beginning, it really helps you get back into quality care for the patients.
Right now it seems a little overwhelming. Once we sit down as a group and start hashing things out the end result is worth the commitment to do it. Its worth figuring everything out.
(To another doctor who was thinking of starting the Brady Group program). Were all working towards the same thing. Dont get you feathers ruffled right now. Hold in there, see where its going. Im excited and eager to do this.
"The program has got a lot of positive motivational aspects in it. (To another doctor who was thinking of starting the Brady Group program). I think it works. The things that we have done have been improving our practice. We absolutely have seen some of the things that Dr. Brady says can happen So I think it is a worthwhile program. Maybe even if people end up not participating 100% in the program or find parts of it that are just not going to mesh with their mission or their vision, its worthwhile. Its definitely got wisdom.
Ive had a good time and Im really glad that I have an opportunity to do it again. Its really allowed me to refine some things. When you take it initially, there is a lot of information and you feel overwhelmed. And if you dont have a good action plan to follow it through you can get bogged down in things. But now that weve experienced the success of some of the program, Im hearing some of the other things I missed the first time. I think this will allow us to get back on track and help us to move forward and get into where we want to go. So I would recommend it. Absolutely.
For anyone looking at the program and the fact that it does seem very overwhelming, I do think that it does work, if you are committed to wanting to make it work in your office. You just need to give yourself time. I think Dentists, as a general rule, are perfectionist types of personality styles. Once theyre motivated to be in this program, they want change and they want it immediately. As Dr. Brady says during the course of his program, its not just an event that is going to happen in the end of the first week. It is an ongoing process and you do need to refine and if you hang in there and keep working on it, a lot of the things that he says can happen, will happen."
"We went through the program 3 years ago. We decided to come back to reestablish a few things that were not doing in our office. Were happy with where we are at, but we are trying to get to a new plateau and in order to get to this plateau, we feel that we need a little bit more help. The Doctor is really getting into cosmetic work now, and that is, of course, a larger time with patients and also more of a cost factor. These seminars will help us get to that plateau that we want to reach.
My thoughts on the program are very good. I think that some of the things have to be worked out in your office. Its not something that I feel that you could jump into immediately. Only because you need to totally understand it as a team, and once the team understands it, it works a lot easier. It does take a little time. It just doesnt happen the next day when you get back to your office.
(To another doctor who was thinking of starting the Brady Group program). Definitely do the program. Really listen. I feel its a really good program. You just have to take your time with it. And for a new doctor thats on the fence, its just something that has to be worked out in your office. Everybody in the Brady Group is excellent to work with. Theyre very friendly. Theyre very helpful. You call, you get answers. It may not be the answers you wanted at that time, but then it just something your team has to work through.
